Toward the True Vision of Reality
Upon leaving a Piet Mondrian/de Stijl restrospective, the visitors find the foyer changed. At the near end of a passage stands a display with the title of Mondrian’s memoirs inscribed on its upper margin: Toward the True Vision of Reality. At the far end of the passage there is a photo wall with a life-size image of Piet Mondrian in his New York studio in 1943. lmmediately before it, near the exit, a monitor shows the entire passage as an image construction, with the title along the lower margin and a display of the passing real-time on the upper rim. In the center: Piet Mondrian with a picture is covered by the visitors walking towards him. When leaving the passage, they can see how they are interlocked in the image context.
