About War

The relationship of a work to a theme, whenever it is part of a theme exhibition, can only consist in the work being viewed with an attitude that raises the question of what it might have to da with the theme. This relationship, particularly in connection with the theme of this exhibition, „About War”, creates the possibility of involving the principle of presentation per se, the effect of sculpture per se, as the decisive message in a report „about war”. This is what this work is based an, and thus we are not talking about just any imaginary war, as one might take some reflex in the interaction of imagination and means of expression for “war”; rather, we are dealing with the confrontation with a vis-á-vis, triggered by a vis-á-vis which makes this very confrontation its theme.
